The Banfi Chianti Classico Riserva is crafted in the Chianti region between Florence and Siena, and is quite possibly the original "red blend". This Chianti Classico Riserva has a deep ruby-red color, with aromas of ripe cherry and blackberry, followed by notes of tobacco, leather, and spices. On the palate, it is well-structured, with firm tannins and a long, persistent finish. The wine is made from a blend of Sangiovese grapes, with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Canaiolo Nero, and is aged in oak barrels for 24 months before bottling. This extended aging process enhances the wine's complexity, adding layers of flavor and texture. The wine's acidity is well-balanced, making it a perfect pairing for classic Italian dishes like roasted meat, pasta with red sauce, and aged cheese. It's also a great accompaniment to grilled steak or hearty stews.
