TASTING NOTES The 2022 Acrobat Pinot Gris is fresh and brilliant. Fruit-forward notes of pear, passion fruit, and honeydew melon intrigue the nose and carry through to the palate. Pleasant minerality and nicely balanced acidity round out a medium-bodied mouthfeel that concludes with a crisp, spirited finish.

WINEMAKING PROCESS The 2022 Pinot Gris was pressed shortly after harvest to minimize skin extraction while retaining its varietal character. The juice was then inoculated and happily fermented in stainless steel tanks over the next few weeks. When the acid, sugar, and alcohol levels were in balance, the fermentation was arrested by cooling the vessel to near freezing temperatures. The wine was bottled soon after to retain fermentation esters and freshness.  

VINTAGE NOTES 2022 will be remembered for the challenging yet rewarding growing season in Oregon. April frosts impacted much of our Northern Oregon vineyards in the Willamette Valley, but despite the frost; the vines responded with higher than anticipated grape yields. We were rewarded with a warm and dry September and October, which allowed our vineyards to reach optimal maturity before harvest. Picking for the Acrobat Pinot Gris began later in the season than 2021, starting in late-September and concluding in mid-October.
