The Good Pour Private Blend: FORWARD/SLASH
I think we can all agree that good whiskey is best enjoyed in good company. That's the inspiration behind our collaboration with FORWARD/SLASH — the first release in the Kindred Spirit Series. But there’s even more to it.
"Good Company" is a blend of two high-rye bourbons — a 9-year and 12-year — that is unfiltered, unproofed and unmistakably good. Coming in big at 122 proof, it drinks more like an approachable 110 proof without being watered down. The 9-year high-rye bourbon brings a signature spice, while the 12-year high-rye rounds things out with leather and earthiness and a big, sweet fruity finish.
Why did we blend a 12-year and 9-year bourbon? When a bourbon lays in a barrel for an extended period of time, it can soften it, bringing out the vanilla and caramel notes that we loved in this 12-year. Blending in the 9-year added a vibrance that raised the spiciness level and introduced outstanding fruit notes. This contrast became a complement, and it’s what kept bringing us back sip after sip.
