Granting Wishes: Spotlight on Make-A-Wish

When a child is facing a critical illness, their world can quickly shrink to the four walls of a hospital room, filled with doctor’s appointments, treatments and constant worry. But a single, beautiful Wish has the power to break those walls down — replacing fear with anticipation, and weakness with joy.

We are incredibly proud to dedicate this charity partner spotlight to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida, an organization that has spent decades turning life-changing dreams into reality for children and families in our community.

For a child fighting for their health, a wish isn’t just a nice-to-have distraction. Research shows that granting a wish can actually improve a child's physical and emotional well-being, giving them the emotional strength they need to fight harder. Whether it's swimming with dolphins, meeting a personal hero or becoming a superhero for a day, Make-A-Wish reminds these brave children that anything is possible. 

Our team recently had the honor of partnering with Make-A-Wish once again for the Wishmakers Ball on May 30, 2026. Held at the stunning Waldorf Astoria Orlando, this elegant and deeply uplifting annual gala brings our community together for one vital goal: to fund as many wishes as possible.

This year, The Good Pour wanted to bring something truly special to the live auction. We donated an all-inclusive private party for up to 100 guests at our Top Shelf Rooftop Venue at TGP Winter Park. As the auction got underway, the energy in the ballroom was absolutely electric. The bidding for our rooftop package quickly escalated, with two passionate supporters locked in a friendly battle to win the prize.

Sensing the incredible momentum — and knowing exactly where those funds were going — our team made a spontaneous decision. Susan Boucher, VP of Business Development, stepped up to the microphone and doubled our donation on the spot, offering a second rooftop party so both of the top bidders could win.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of those bidders, our live auction items raised a staggering $32,000 directly for Make-A-Wish. We were absolutely thrilled to play a part in what became a historic, record-breaking night, with the 32nd annual Wishmakers Ball raising a grand total of $1.85 million. Every single dollar raised represents a dream come true, a family supported, and a spark of hope reignited.
